This track was my first attempt to work with Reason and Ableton Live.
Co-written with Robert P-Nut Johnson, Parliament Funkadelic and Bootsy's Rubber Band vocalist, who sang the iconic "All around the world for the funk" line on One Nation. P-Nut heard the instrumental track as Jerome Rogers was laying down his phat Moog parts, from my make-shift studio inside a utility closet down in George Clinton's Tallahassee recording studio one night, and asked if he could try out a part he had that he though would work. It was eerily taylor made for the track, literally singing the part down in one take over the instrumental already arranged in a pop song format. George also laid down some vox that day, and perhaps one day there will be a new remix! Ronkat Spearman cut the vocals in LA at Benny Sanchez's backyard studio in Los Feliz, shared with a production partner Rich ( it was Rich's backyard). This song was mixed and remixed in serval locations around the world before it was called "done". There is a remix from 2016, for a visual project called Synesthesia, and was used in live performances in 2018 in Spain and Portugal, but has yet to be released. Maybe 2022?
