about
This track was written in a hotel in New Orleans late on Halloween Night, while wearing a Batman costume, as my GF slept. It was recorded in New Mexico at Stacy Parrish's Corrales Studio, except my telecaster, which I recorded in my basement studio on Colon Ave in San Francisco. The basics were recorded live in New Mexico. It was on a song demo I made in the mid-nineties, and appears on a self produced collection of tracks in 2015, Love To The 3rd Power, only released on Sound Cloud. Until now, 2021.
lyrics
I wish I could be Young
words & music C & P 2002
Shaunna Hall/ Haute Doggerel music
I heard the whistle on the train
and I saw the tracks down below
and I wish i could be young, but time just carried me away, yeah yeah
Once upon a time,
there was a woman, who had a daughter
who had a dog
she took him for a walk
I wish i could be young, but time just carried me away, yeah yeah
oh say, forgotten youth
it's been awhile
where've ya been?
I'd give three wishes and mountains of love just to see you, old friend
....I pray for the kiss of time that carried me away, away
